Details
Published in 1908, the final volume of the Annuaire Général et International de la Photographie marks the conclusion of a reference work that documented more than fifteen years of developments in photography. Edited by Roger Aubry, it combines technical articles, reports on new processes and equipment, directories, and commercial advertisements, providing a comprehensive overview of the photographic industry at the beginning of the twentieth century. The 1908 volume appeared during a period of rapid innovation, when stereoscopic photography, colour photography, and compact hand cameras had become increasingly established. Today, the final Annuaire is an important historical source for studying both the technical progress and commercial landscape of photography immediately before the First World War.
