Details
Published in its ninth annual edition in 1900, the Annuaire Général et International de la Photographie was one of the leading French reference works for professional photographers and advanced amateurs at the turn of the twentieth century. Edited by Marc Le Roux, it combined technical articles, industry information, directories, and advertisements with extensive illustrations, documenting the rapid development of photography during this period. The volume also contains a multi-page illustrated advertisement for Jules Richard’s Verascope cameras and Homéoscopes (see image), reflecting the company’s growing importance in stereoscopic photography and the promotion of its products to the wider photographic community. Today, the Annuaire provides valuable insight into the photographic industry and the commercial context.
