His­tor­i­cal doc­u­ments are among the most valu­able pri­ma­ry sources for the study of antique stere­oscopy. They pre­serve infor­ma­tion about man­u­fac­tur­ers, pho­tog­ra­phers, inven­tions, prod­ucts, and every­day use that often can­not be obtained from sur­viv­ing instru­ments alone.
