Set of 10 German Stereo Views, Altostereo-Format

This small col­lec­tion of 9 × 12 cm stereo­scop­ic glass views was acquired togeth­er with the match­ing Altostere­o­scope. Cer­tain­ly made in Ger­many dur­ing the ear­ly twen­ti­eth cen­tu­ry, the images con­sist almost exclu­sive­ly of por­traits and fam­i­ly scenes, pro­vid­ing a glimpse into pri­vate stereo­scop­ic pho­tog­ra­phy of the period.
Each plate is pro­tect­ed by a sec­ond glass cov­er, help­ing to pre­serve the pho­to­graph­ic emul­sion from dust, scratch­es, and oth­er dam­age. As a result, the images have retained an excel­lent lev­el of detail and tonal quality.
