Foldable stereoscopes were designed to reduce their size for transport and storage. They range from inexpensive paper viewers to finely crafted luxury models with elaborate marquetry. While folding designs are most commonly associated with hand-held stereoscopes, the concept was also applied to tabletop viewers such as the Pantoscope and the Graphoscope. This section features antique stereoscopes with folding designs from a wide variety of makers and periods.
