Mattey was a major Parisian manufacturer of stereoscopic equipment whose product range expanded considerably through the acquisition of other firms. This allowed the company to offer a broad selection of stereoscopes, including hand-held, folding, and sophisticated tabletop models. Mattey also manufactured stereoscopes for numerous other companies without applying its own name, including the well-known Educa viewer.
